Living Up to Our Responsibilities
ALTANA strives to become a market leader in its markets and further expand its position. In this process, we are guided by values such as responsibility for mankind and the environment as well as our obligation for fairness, tolerance, and transparency. We are committed to the UN initiative Global Compact and observe its social and environmental standards.
We also respect and protect human rights and the rights of our employees, for example their right to form and join unions or their right to collective bargaining. We fight all forms of forced labor and child labor as well as all kinds of discrimination.
ALTANA furthermore supports well-qualified junior staff members as we are aware of their importance for the future success of our company. For this reason, we voluntarily committed to the fair treatment and remuneration of our interns at the beginning of 2009. As a result, ALTANA was awarded the seal of approval by the Fair Company initiative of the business magazine "Junge Karriere" ("Young Career").
The social responsibility of a company starts with the responsibility for its employees. By dealing with our employees in a respectful manner and giving them perspectives, and by further encouraging openness and enforcing our operational, social, and ethical standards at ALTANA, we positively affect the living environment of our employees in the long term in all of our locations worldwide.
