What have you done before you joined ELANTAS?

I obtained a degree in Industrial Chemistry at the ‘Università delgli Studi di Parma’, Italy in 1998. During my studies, I obtained an Erasmus scholarship to carry out part of the thesis at the ‘Universidad Autonoma de Madrid’, Spain.

After completing civilian service, I joined Sisas S.p.A. for several months in the production department. I then had the chance to join ELANTAS Camattini S.p.A. as project leader in the R&D department.

Please describe us your typical working day

My working days vary a lot: I might visit a customer together with one of our sale engineers to discuss a new development or to solve a current problem; I might have a meeting with a supplier of raw material to evaluate possible new solutions or alternatives to a raw material already in use; I might work in the laboratory preparing a small batch and conducting tests (mechanical, thermal, electrical, etc.) in order to develop a product based on a request from our sales engineer; or I might carry out a trial in our laboratory with a customer to evaluate together with them if one of our standard product fits their new project needs.

What were the career stations you have gone through within the ALTANA Group and how did the company support you?

I moved from ELANTAS Camattini (I) to ELANTAS PDG (USA) in 2002-2003 and then back to ELANTAS Camattini (I), during which period I learnt UL procedures and worked on projects of mutual interest for the two companies. I took part in the MDP program for 2004/2005. In 2008 I spent six weeks at ELANTAS Beck (D), moving again from ELANTAS Camattini (I) to ELANTAS PDG (USA) in 2008-2009 to contribute to the know-how of ELANTAS PDG regarding technical requirements of the E&EM market.

What do you do in your leisure time?

I have played basketball at amateur level for more than 20 years. I love hiking, skiing, mountain biking, camping, climbing, and any outdoor activity.

In which cultural experiences are you interested?

During my vacation time I am the tour leader for an Italian travel agency. I like history and I am curious to explore cultural differences. I also love music of many kinds: indie, rock, blues, and jazz. I try to attend a lot of concerts, from small to big venue events.
