Diversity

We promote equal opportunity and object to any kind of discrimination based on sexual identity, ethnic origin, world views, disabilities, or age. Characteristics such as openness, honesty, mutual respect, tolerance, and the ability to respond positively to criticism are just as much a part of our corporate culture as a positive attitude is.

ALTANA strives to increase the number of women in managerial positions and the number of employees from different nations and cultures in all of its companies. Our personnel development programs contributes to this goal as well. The more diverse the living environments, experiences, mentalities, and biographies or our employees are, the more a company - particularly one operating globally like ALTANA - can benefit from these employee qualities that far exceed simple technical qualifications.

A family-oriented personnel policy is therefore an important foundation for equal opportunity. ALTANA strives to further improve the compatibility of family and career. Our employee-oriented services are one of the factors promoting women working in executive positions.

To further increase equal opportunity, the project "Diversity" was created. An internal project team is currently developing concepts that will further improve diversity and equal opportunity in our companies. Amongst other things, we conducted an internal survey regarding women in managerial positions. The results of this survey will be available soon.

The demographic development, changes in partial retirement regulations (collective bargained and legal), and the raised retirement age present new challenges for ALTANA and its employees. Employee benefit plans, lifetime working-hours accounts, age-specific workplaces as well as life-long learning opportunites prepare ALTANA and its employees for this change in demographics and the corresponding challenges.
