Emission-free mobility.

Better traffic flow for electric vehicles.

The vision of a zero-emission city is over 120 years old: the world’s first electrically powered streetcar went into operation in 1881 in Gross-Lichterfelde, today a part of Berlin. Will cars, two-wheelers and public buses be powered solely by electricity in the near future? This challenge will demand leading-edge technologies, which ALTANA supplies with developments for high-performance batteries. For example, through electrical insulation materials that withstand even the greatest wear and tear and enable greater ranges. Regulating the flow of traffic will also play an important role in future – because no one likes to waste time and energy waiting at a traffic light. So ALTANA will proactively continue working on induction-loop coatings for traffic light systems to better guide traffic to tomorrow's destinations.
