ALTANA supports Training Initiative 2010 in the Wesel district

From today, Training Initiative 2010, which is supported by ALTANA, will be rolled out for the district of Wesel. The training initiative will again be accompanied by an intensive 9-month media campaign from Radio K.W. The first major “training day” is planned for March 11, 2010.

ALTANA supports this initiative in order to entice more would-be apprentices into a skilled trade. The campaign places special emphasis on information about careers and training routes, and would like to motivate more companies on the Lower Rhine to establish more training places. “As one of the biggest employers in the Wesel district, we are interested in offering young people seeking an apprenticeship a perspective,” Sven Kremser, Head of External and Internal Relations at ALTANA, states.

On the one hand the campaign will make ALTANA and its divisions in the area better known at local and regional level, while providing an overview of the most important apprenticed trades on the other. Currently, ALTANA is training around 130 trainees in Germany. By year’s end ALTANA hopes to increase the proportion of trainees in all of Germany to 5%. Kremser continues: “However, in terms of social responsibility, we also regard ourselves as a company for all young people, even if they aren’t being trained at ALTANA. Because we are supporting the lasting and long-term economic development in the town and in the district of Wesel, the attractiveness of which we all profit from.”
