Today, after the company’s Annual General Meeting in Duisburg, the Supervisory Board of the specialty chemicals Group ALTANA AG has extended the appointment of Martin Babilas (37) as Member of the Management Board. So, with effect from May 3, 2010, Babilas is reappointed as Member of the Management Board for five years. Babilas, who was born in Aachen and studied business administration following a bank traineeship, has been with ALTANA since 1998. In 2006, still under ALTANA’s old Group structure, Babilas became a Member of the Management Board of ALTANA Chemie AG, assuming responsibility as Chief Financial Officer. Since May 2007, when ALTANA started concentrating on specialty chemicals, Babilas has worked as CFO together with Dr. Matthias L. Wolfgruber, the CEO of ALTANA AG, on the Management Board of the company.
