At the European Coatings Show (ECS) from May8 to 10 in Nuremberg, BYK-Chemie will be presenting its new wetting and dispersing additives DISPERBYK®-2010 and DISPERBYK®-2020, which have been produced on the basis of controlled radical polymerization.
DISPERBYK®-2010, developed for waterborne systems, only has an extremely slight effect on the water resistance of the coating thanks to its hydrophobic structures. Like DISPERBYK®-2020, which has been developed for solventborne systems, it is extremely economical and achieves outstanding results in the area of pigment stabilization.
New to BYK-Chemie’s range of products are the adhesion promoters. BYK®-4500 and BYK®-4510 provide innovative solutions to familiar problems with their unique properties. While BYK®-4510, an adhesion promoter for one-coat baking systems in industrial applications, produces a high affinity between the metal substrate and the binder in the coating and achieves improved adhesion on untreated, galvanized and hot-dip galvanized steel, as well as on aluminum and other metals, BYK®-4500 improves the adhesion of waterborne coatings even on not thoroughly sanded substrate due to its strong pigment affinic groups. This effect is based on a new mechanism for which the patent is pending.
BYK-Chemie is represented at the European Coatings Show in Hall A4, Booth 206. This year the company will be there with a new corporate design.
Parallel to the trade fair, the Nürnberg Congress will be taking place from May 7 to 9. BYK-Chemie is represented here with the following technical lectures:
