BYK-Gardner, manufacturer of innovative measuring instruments for the quality control of paints and plastics, introduces the new byko-cut universal, the universal tool for film thickness measurement, adhesion test, indentation hardness test and visual inspection in one unit.
The new byko-cut distinguishes itself by its ergonomic design that makes handling easy. It answers laboratory requirements and is robust enough to be used on site. The byko-cut performs 4 different tests:
- Film thickness measurements on any substrate: steel, non-ferrous metal, plastics, wood
- Adhesion tests by crosscut (ASTM + DIN)
- Indentation hardness test (Buchholz) (ASTM + DIN)
- Microscopic check for pores, cracks, blisters, flaking, intercoat adhesion
The new byko-cut universal includes new features which facilitate the operation: it simultaneously displays the ยต (ISO) and mils (ASTM) scales. The exchange of cutters has become very easy with the revolving rotary head for up to 6 blades. A cut finder makes it easy to find the cut on the substrate. Guiding wheels assure a smooth cutting. LED illumination reduces failures almost to zero.
