Steps of application process

We would like to give you an overview of how the application process normally occurs by means of the following diagram:

Please send us your complete application documents with cover letter, resume, testimonials, preferred location where applicable, desired salary and your earliest possible starting date.
 
Please note that the file size for the application documents must not exceed 5 MB individually and 10 MB collectively.

You send us your application: your application reaches us here and is dealt with by our colleagues from HR with local responsibility.

We will provide you with an acknowledgement of our receipt of your application as a matter of course – either immediately via the ALTANA Job Market or, with an email or postal application, in a matter of days!

Following an initial screening by our colleagues from HR, your documents will be forwarded to the relevant department. Here they will be examined to determine whether or not your application fits the desired profile. The precise course and duration of the application process obviously depend on various factors and can vary according to country, company, department and position. Please consider that we are unable to give any actual details about the projected timetable. You can be sure, however, that your application will be dealt with as quickly and conscientiously as possible.

Please note that an unsolicited application may well entail longer processing times, as we would like to forward your application to different companies and/or departments for perusal to increase your chances of receiving a positive response.

The telephone interview, where applicable, enables us to make a first impression of you and, if need be, clarify any outstanding questions.

As part of our recruiting process, we make use of an online or presence assessment for some positions.

The next stage is usually an interview, the aim of which is to get to know you personally. This is generally conducted by the relevant department, with a colleague from HR often taking part in the first round also.

In the course of the second (optional) interview, you will meet other colleagues from the department and, if applicable, other line managers and staff. This will take place a few weeks after the first interview.

Approx. two weeks after the last interview, we will contact you by phone and let you know our decision. If we consider you to be a suitable candidate for the post, you will receive your contract of employment as soon as possible.

It goes without saying that our persons of contact are available to answer any questions you might have at any point during your application!
